So I had orignally built this just straight up regular HTML5, and I was a pretty pleased with the layout and format, but suddenly, I had the urge to make a blog. I hope that by having the goal to write something regularly, it will give me the desire to do something regularly. I know I'm not the only one who has thought this.
Anyway, so after trying a lot of different static-site generators (and almost giving up and trying to make my own), I settled on using 11ty. So far it does exactly what I want it to do - convert markdown to HTML using templates, but also lets me use my own files as well (such as CSS, JS and projects).
The other upside is that it actually works properly, but I reckon most of my trouble earlier was caused by my hesitation to just not start from scratch.
Maybe.
Anyway, I will take what I can get!
